Independent estate agent and chartered surveyor Mallard Property Group has pledged their support to another great cause. The firm, which has a selection of dedicated branches throughout South West Wales, has revealed that they will be fundraising for Maggie’s Swansea over the course of the year.
Based at Singleton Hospital, Maggie’s Swansea provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer as well as their family and friends. After opening their first centre in Edinburgh back in 1996, national charity Maggie’s now has 17 centres at major NHS cancer hospitals not just in the UK but online and overseas. The brainchild of Maggie Keswick Jencks, the professional staff at Maggie’s Swansea offer the advice people need and host a range of classes, workshops and events.
“We are delighted to partner with this great charity for the next year. It provides so much support for people suffering with cancer. The professional advice on health, nutrition and family or one to one counselling coupled with the very accessible and friendly surroundings that this facility has on offer is inspiring and we are so pleased to be able to help,” said Jason Williams, Director at Mallard and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) member.
There is still much to be done in regards to cancer support, and Maggie’s relies on donations to deliver its inspirational service. As part of their partnership, Mallard will feature the Maggie’s brand on all their collateral to raise awareness for the charity, its Swansea centre and its great work within communities not just locally but up and down the country.
Directors Alun Thomas and Jason Williams have also recently visited the centre, met members of their great team and witnessed first-hand the support being provided to cancer sufferers. In addition to this, Maggie’s will be the subject of various fundraising events at their branches, with a minimum donation of £2,000 already pledged to the charity.
Lucia Osmond, Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie’s, added, “On behalf of Maggie’s Swansea, I am delighted that Mallard has chosen Maggie’s as their charity this year. Our visitor numbers are steadily increasing year on year so we rely on the generosity of the public and the business community to ensure we can provide a free high level service of cancer support to thousands of people in Swansea and West Wales.”
